Announcement of an investment of RD$650 million for the development of tourism in La Vega – English version
RD. The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, announced an investment of more than 650 million pesos in different works to strengthen the tourist development of the province of La Vega.
“On the part of the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), we will spare no effort to guarantee the definitive take-off of tourism in this beautiful province,” he said.
He also reiterated that the recovery of tourism is complete in the Dominican Republic, where more and more visitors are arriving.
He said the effort to achieve the resumption of tourism was worth it as thousands of people have returned to their jobs.
“My greatest satisfaction is when I visit a destination and someone comes to me and tells me that thanks to the work we have done, he has regained his job and with him the economic stability of his family. For me, tourism has a human face. His well-being must be felt by the people,” the minister stressed.
The official recalled that in August, Mitur launched its “Tourism in Every Corner” campaign, the main objective of which is to highlight the potential of each province of the country, pointing out that La Vega has several tourist attractions in each of its municipalities, nature with a pleasant climate, extreme sports, gastronomy, rivers, mountains, among others.
